While the information provided basic technique pointers for using a palette knife for painting, there was not always a complete explanation. At one point, the author states he has 4 basic knives, but he only explains how to use 3 of them. Several of the photos have a lot of glare shining off them, making it difficult and distracting when trying to see exactly the hand or knife position or the result of a certain paint application. Overall, I got my money's worth, but improvements should be made to improve the quality of the book--or in future "how to" volumes from the same author.
I am new to painting and want to learn to use the knife. It's a simple book but I picked up some tips to start the foundation of my knowledge. I wish there had been a little more information on holding a knife and spreading the paint. Mostly just a description of why something is done to the canvas. Still enjoyable. The information on differences in brands of paint was helpful also.
Ok. A bit rough to read as a kindle book. And the pieces I want to learn most, like the adding of the later details he kept secret. I didn't love how his painting turned out. I probably gleaned a few things though.

not spectacular but did find some good info.
I enjoyed this video and it was fun to try painting with a knife. I still prefer brushes but this method will be great for large paintings with lots of sky or water.
It was a nick quick lesson on using a palette knife for intermediate painters. I would buy more of his demos.
