Absolutely love the content. The instruction, themes and prompts are just what i need to keep me drawing and creating a little bit eech day.My review is only 3 stars because the quality of paper is so poor and inappropriate for the recommended media. Im still on the first month, which recommends black pen and markers and eeverythin bleeds through this thin paper, resulting in a bit of disappointment. If the papers were of higher quality or not double sided, it would be and undoubtedly 5 star product . I dont see how watercolors can possibly work with this.

I so looked forward to this book, I'm a big fan of her style and a follower on Instagram where she posts one painting a day, and is on year 4...sadly she shares very little of her prolific painting in this book. Instead there are approximately 180 ish blank pages with prompts such as "a windmill and tulips", a "pitched tent", a "sleep mask and earplugs"...which could be fun, and if you're the type of person who likes painting/drawing from a textual prompt, you may like this book, there are some fun ones...I was looking for more inspiration, a more visual prompt to inspire me that I could put my own spin on. I like the different types of paper, the binding...but compared to the richly illustrated books of so many current mixed media artists, I am left unsatisfied with this book.

The cover of this book is so enticing -- I was so, so excited when it arrived in the mail. And so, so disappointed when I actually looked through it. The book is essentially a glorified sketchbook. It is filled with blank pages -- not completely blank, but mostly blank -- with little prompts directing you to draw this or that. Are there examples of the this or that you are supposed to draw? NO. If you're creatively challenged and don't quite know where to start, I don't think this book would be a huge help. The concept is interesting -- draw just a little bit every day, a month at a time. The book is divided into 12 subject -- one for each month -- with recommended media for each month. For example, the first section (1) is "A Month of Nature" and the recommended media are markers and black pen. There is a darling one page tutorial with a five-step example of how to draw a colorful flower bouquet using markers and black pen. After that, you're on your own. The pages are labeled "two dragonflies," "a field of sunflowers," "five types of tulips," "a page full of daffodils," "bees hovering over clover," and so on -- but it's up to you to envision what these things might look like. (2) The next chapter is titled "A Month of Food," done in colored pencil and black pen. There's a one-page tutorial on how to draw an apple with colored pencils, but after that, you're on your own to draw "ingredients for a great salad," "condiments in jars," kiwi slices", "a banana split", "a container of Chinese takeout"," and so on. (3) Chapter three is a month of your favorite things, drawn with white and gold gel pens on black paper. (4) is a month around town, drawn in pencil and black pen. (5) is a month around the house, in gold gel ink and black pen, with prompts to draw "the contents of your junk drawer" or "some items from your medicine cabinet." (6) is a month of world travel, in black and white pencil and black pen on brown kraft paper. (7) is a month of characters using red, blue, and black ballpoint pens. (8) is a month of clothes, made with patterned paper, markers, and black pen. (9) is a month of prints and patterns, in markers stamps, and pen, drawn on grid paper. (10) s a month of animals, in gouache or watercolor -- although I doubt the paper is well-suited to watercolors. The five-step example is a drawing of a bird that is far more complicated than I could ever begin to reproduce. (11) is a month of sea life, in gouache or watercolor with black pen. (12) is a month of your choice followed by -- yep -- blank pages. In all fairness, the examples and the few illustrations scattered throughout the book are adorable -- and this might be just the thing to inspire some people. For a non-artist, though, it's a little daunting. I can look around and find plenty of things to draw on my own, I would like some help in knowing how to draw them. This book provides you with prompts and a space to draw, but little else. For me, this was a disappointing purchase.

This book is a waste of money. One would have to draw the suggested subjects from memory which certainly is not a good way to learn to draw. I was going to return it but by the time I paid the return shipping price, my refund would be too little to make the trip to the post office worth the effort.

Enlightening I love the way the author of this book makes it appear as though, it’s easy to draw.I just wish she would have included more pictures of her own drawings to demonstrate her view, and style of drawing and to use as examples or inspiration. But I think that’s the point she wants the “reader” to find their own style of drawing. What I LOVE about this book:- It's neat to look at, the cover inside the book looks like a coloring book. You can color it!- Comfortable to draw in. It’s uniquely put together, not like any other book I’ve seen before.-The tiny pictures she drew at the beginning of each chapter as examples are very helpful and leave you in amazement(how on earth does she make it look so easy?!?!). She stylizes her drawings and makes it look so easy. It’s shocking to me!! I’m just left in awe…. SIMPLY WOW!! LOVE THIS BOOK, SO HAPPY I gave it a chance. It’s a good challenge for a novice drawer. I wish I could draw as good as her.

I just got this book. I wish I had read a few more reviews before I bought it! I know the author from Instagram and have enjoyed her art she shares there. This book is very disappointing! Most of the book is filled with pages that are empty except for a few words describing what YOU are to draw. Very, very little instruction.

I bought "Draw Every Day, Draw Every Way" recently and was majorly disappointed in it. Not that the book doesnʻt have good ideas of things to draw and methods to do your drawing with. What was disappointing to me was that 3/4 of the book is almost empty pages for you to draw on, with up to 5 words for a prompt of what to draw (195 pages of this versus 46 pages with either her art or actual instruction on them). Really? I have sketchbooks for that and it seemed like a way to fluff the book up to many pages rather than giving more information. If I had thumbed through it in a bookstore I would not have bought it. The paper is OK for ink but really nothing else. So donʻt waste your money on it.
