The author describes in detail the equipment necessary to operate a waste-water treatment system and how they work, but not in a user friendly style for non-engineers. It is used as the textbook for my college course as part of an environmental concentration in an occupational safety and health masters degree program, so I was not expecting to be thrown in the deep end and study a topic that is very specific to one aspect of environmental requirements. Additionally, the author is fond of using words requiring the use of a dictionary instead of making the explanation of the process simple to follow and understand. Example: using "diurnal" instead of simply saying "daily". There are enough new terms in the book to learn without making the process more "onerous".
